  48. TIP:  Test your gauge by working a small swatch. This pattern is worked over a multiple of 6 sts plus 3 sts. Cast on 27 sts (4 repeats of 6 sts = 24 sts; 24 sts plus 3 sts = 27 sts). Follow the pattern as written for at least 32 rows before measuring your gauge.
